Jared and JT do it big in Europe

Bjj United Brown Belt stand out JT Torres continues on his hot streak by once again winning his weight class and absolute class at the cbjj European championships last weekend. JT went on to win 9 fights and only had a total of 4 points scored against him the whole weekend. Just a reminder that he has now won the Asian Cbjj event weight and open, the U.S. open Weight and open, The Cbjj no-gi Worlds weight, the Cbjj no-gi Pan am weight, and now the European Cbjj weight and open!!!! WOW!!!! Don't forget he is only 19 years young!!!!

Bjj United Head Instructor Jared Weiner also kept his podium hot streak alive by bringing home the silver medal in the black belt light weight masters division. Jared put out a dominating performance but came up just a little short in the finals against long time rival carlos "portuguese" Viera. If you know Jared, you know he is not satisfied with silver. Jared personaly told me that he is gonna train 10 times harder for the pan ams next month in California and aim for the gold!! Jared has won or placed in the last 4 major Cbjj events he has fought in, pan ams, brasilerios, no-gi pan am, and the Europeans. We are all very proud of him here at BJJ UNITED!!

Grandmaster Helio Gracie Passes

It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that the Master of Maser, the founder of gracie Jiu-Jitsu Grandmaster Helio Gracie has passed. The Grandmaster is survived by his wife Vera, sons Rorion, Relson, Rickson, Rolker, Royler, Royce and Robin and daughters Rherika and Ricci his grandkids and the Gracie family and a family of disciples all practitioners of the art he loved .

at this time I am at a loss of words as words are not enough to describe the greatness of this man who not only developed a martial art but along with his family fought to spread the word of its efficiency to the 4 corners of the World. As a disciple, fan and someone who has had the priviledge of sharing the wisdom of the Grandmaster I can only say that we will all miss him dearly and he will live in spirit forever in all who practice and love this art.

A somber Royler put it perfectly: "He influenced all of us for the better, continues to affect and will continue to affect so many forever!"

I am sure that Grandmaster Helio Gracie is now sharing the big mat in the heavens!

We will miss you dearly!

ANNOUNCEMENT IS TO WELCOME  KRU RIGEL BALSAMICO TO THE BJJ UNITED STAFF! Kru
Rigel will be teaching the Monday night Muay Thai class at 7pm, and as our
schedule grows we will start to implement new morning and noon classes to the
the Muay Thai schedule.  Be sure to come ready to work hard in his class. On
personal note I am very happy to have Kru Rigel on the BJJ UNITED staff, he will
only bring great things to the school and stress the hard work ethic that we
strive for everyday. here is Kru Rigel's Bio.

Anual Thanksgiving Turkey Roll

Keeping on with our BJJ UNITED tradition, we will be having our anual turkey roll to burn off all that food the day after thanksgiving!!!! Open mat will begin at 12 noon on Friday November 28th and go till whenever. We will be closed for the normal schedule on Friday the 28th. I hope to see everyone there to enjoy the day. Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday!

I am pleased to announce out next Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, GI ONLY In-house tournament will take place on Saturday November 8th. We will have divisions for white, blue, and purple belts. Men and Women. the weight classes are as follows

we will have sign up sheets at the school. Pre pay is $30 Day of tournament is $50 save yourself a few dollars and pre reg. Pre registration also helps up set things up a lot quicker and things run a lot smoother. we will hold weigh ins the night before at bjj united from 6pm-8:30pm, and the day of from 8am-10am. The tournament will start by 11am. This tournament is open to all Bjj united, and team Lloyd Irvin affiliations only. We look forward to seeing you there.
